The spaces
A full wedding rental gives exclusive use of the alee and dry fountain, the garden courtyard, the waterfront veranda, the hibiscus garden and the Bonnet House beach, for guest counts up to 250 (the hibiscus garden comes in for the largest weddings). From October through April the veranda is tented, white only. A ceremony-only package covers a one-hour ceremony and is not offered on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays from October through May.
The portrait window
This is the reason to get married here. A full rental includes the property for photography two hours before the ceremony, along with a private upstairs suite; a ceremony-only rental includes one hour. That window is where the couple's portraits and family photos go, in the alee, the hibiscus garden, the courtyard and on the veranda with the water behind you. Full rentals also include a rehearsal from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the day before.
Rules that shape your timeline
The rental is four hours of exclusive use for ceremony, cocktails and reception, plus setup and cleanup time; extra hours are billed hourly and scheduled in advance. Inside the historic house, posed portraits and tripods are not allowed in the exhibit rooms; quick photos and video are. Every rental requires liability insurance, a Bonnet House couple's membership, a security deposit and a police detail. Bonnet House publishes no drone policy, so plan without one unless the estate approves it in writing.
Sidecar Kitchen is the estate's catering and event planning partner, and Bonnet House publishes a pre-approved vendor list; it does not say couples must use it.
How LIB works at Bonnet House
Two photographers or two videographers from our team on every collection, one coordinated team when you book both. Four hours of exclusive use is not long, so we plan coverage with you and your planner around the portrait window and the light through the trees late in the day.
